With research iv come to find that young sculptors first started to use this medam in the mid-1970s like such artists as Patricia Johanson, Dennis Oppenheim, and Athena Tacha.
History of site-specific art
Since the 1960s artists have tried to find another way to
reles themselve from there situation, they started to draw attention to the
site and the context that sirounded the locastion . The work of art was created
in the space and could only exist and in such circumstances. The location in
which should comprises a unique combination of physical elements such as depth,
length, weight, height, shape, walls, and temperature. With this as a
foundashion for the work of art it began to emerge from walls of museums and
galleries to creating a diffrant atmusfer within the locastion.
Examples of work for site-specific art
often include landscaping combined with
permanently sited sculptural elements
(Site-specific art can be linked with Environmental art). Outdoor
site-specific artworks can also include dance performances created
especially for the site. More broadly, the term is sometimes used for any work
that is (more or less) permanently attached to a particular location. In this
sense, a building with interesting architecture could also be
considered a piece of site-specific art.
There are so meny artists that are and have been
producing site-specific works all over the world.
